In vacuum heat treating, the vacuum process removes the oxygen from the furnace to prevent the oxidation that occurs when metals are heated to high temperatures. The vacuum furnace precisely controls heating at pre-determined temperatures ranging from 1,700–2,200°F.

By optimizing the hardness of the component, we can ensure that the medical implant or instrument retains its structural integrity throughout its life cycle — providing optimum safety and functionality for the patient.
